Update

Andreas has had a much better day, today. He has had no fever and less coughing. He does still have a runny/stuffy nose and that glazed look in his eyes. His appetite is back, too. We have been pushing fluids and he is taking Miralax. Thank you for all the suggestions. They will be helpful as we try to prevent this from happening again.

He is still quite miserable with bouts of abdominal pain. He cried again today at naptime when Shyla jumped on him. The boys are staying away because it is awful to watch. Dan, Meredith and I are taking turns trying to comfort him. He whimpers and says, "help me, please". It is heartbreaking!

Right now, he is feeling better again, and is playing a game he made up. He doesn't really play with toys much. He loves to make up his own games with empty bottles or these 3 plastic rings he found. He also plays ball on the stairs. He throws the ball up, and it bounces back down to him. That way, he doesn't have to find a willing partner.:)He is great at entertaining himself. Now that we are home, he hardly watches tv which is fine by me. I hate tv!

So sorry A is sick. Bryan had pneumonia a couple of weeks ago too, so I can understand how frustrating it can be to watch and try to comfort. How is the communication (language? Sign?)coming along? It's got to be worse not being able to understand everything. We pray for all of you every single day...love you! Deb

You can also ask your doctor about Magnesium. I have dealt with constipation my entire life and about 4 years ago began getting chronic migraines. I read that Magnesium is used to help with migraines. I started taking 800 mg a day and to my surprise the constipation also lessened. When I went to Russia, I forgot to take the magnesium and the constipation came back again. I'll ever travel again without it!lol! I'm not sure about children, that's why I say ask your doctor, but it has worked great for me and also my migraines.:)

I think it's great he can entertain himself! Too many kids cannot these days, what a tradgedy. We'll keep praying.

Good to know about magnesium and migraines as well, better to take something natural than a concoction from "big pharma!"

Have you tried a aplying heat when he has abdominal pain- like a heat pack or something? I know it will not deal with the problem, but it certainly brings relief! It is great to "see" how he is fitting in. Bless you
